Using Hierarchical Linear Modeling to Measure Growth Rate in a Gamified CBM Environment

Abstract

This study uses hierarchical linear modeling (HLM) to calculate the growth rate of weekly scores of students who use AVE:PM Maze, a gamified CBM system. We compared our results to previous findings and propose the use of a new scoring algorithm and consistent participation by the students for future studies.
